Square Enix and People Can Fly have announced that the free demo of Outriders is now available. This first playable trial version can be downloaded now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC, where it can be tested both through Steam and GeForce Now. It is worth remembering that the progress obtained in this demo can be kept in the final game as long as we acquire it for the same platform on which we have played this trial version. You can see all the details of the demo here.
“We stand for an honest and transparent marketing campaign, and the best way to deliver on our promise is to allow players to try Outriders before launch with a free demo on the platform of their choice. It’s a large demo, they can spend several hours in Enoch exploring the various classes, powers and character configurations. They can even carry over their progress to the full game. What players will see in the demo is just the tip of the iceberg, it’s just the beginning of the epic adventure that kicks off on April 1,” said Jon Brooke, co-studio director at Square Enix External Studios.
Three-hour demo with four character classes available
The free demo of Outriders allows you to enjoy the full opening chapter of the game’s campaign, which means it lasts an estimated three hours. This trial version will give us the possibility to create several characters so that we can freely try the four classes of the game: Destroyer, Pyromancer, Technomancer and Illusionist. Also included is the cooperative multiplayer mode, although to unlock it you have to complete the prologue first, and a beta version of the cross-play system that will be available at launch in the final version.
Although this is the first time you can try Outriders openly and for free, in Vandal we have already been able to get behind the controls in previous versions: in our last impressions we told you that “it has shown us to be a frenetic game, full of action and that moves us very effectively to the battlefield, with shots, explosions and all kinds of effects that make us feel inside a whole war conflict”.
Outriders is getting ready to debut and around the world this coming April 1, when we will be able to enjoy the game by People Can Fly and Square Enix on both PC and consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S). To warm up the engines for this battle, we have been able to enjoy a new preview of the game: titled No turning back, it is an animated video that allows us to take a look at the story proposed by this title. We remind you that the free demo of the game is already available on all platforms.
Outriders: People Can Fly and Square Enix’s multiplayer action game.
“They called the best, brilliant heroes to restart civilization on the other side of the galaxy”, is the premise that Outriders presents us with its story. “Well, they ended up in pieces. So they turned to us. The scum, the outcasts. They sent us to a distant planet to save the species. But that place had other plans. It changed us. We became something more powerful. Weapons.
Outriders is defined as a third-person shooter and role-playing game that we can also enjoy with friends thanks to its cooperative mode. The game comes from the studio People Can Fly, parents of titles like Gears of War: Judgment and Bulletstorm, in collaboration with Square Enix External Studios (Just Cause, Sleeping Dogs). “That this planet wants to wipe us out? Good luck. With each victim we get stronger. It’s not about saving ourselves, it’s about surviving. If we have to get our hands dirty, so be it,” the synopsis continues.
Among the mechanics of Outriders, players can enjoy a unique combination of weapons and powers that will turn the characters into gods ready for battle. The title seeks to let users find their own style of play, so they will have to find the combination of powers, character classes and equipment that best suits them. It can be enjoyed solo or cooperatively with one or two other players.
